We were there with my daughter's gymnastics team and all of their families - so there were about 30 of us staying at the resort. So all in all I have to say we had a fabulous time during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay at this resort, and look forward to a time in the future to return as a family of 4. Thank you to these wonderful ladies for their care of our sweet boy, who also benefited from time to just be a kid on vacation. Other special needs parents (and parents of typically-developing kids, too) can understand the need to be able to relax, and feel confident that someone who is very competent and understanding is looking after your child. They helped him have a great time, and gave a stay-at-home mom and hard-working dad just what we needed: some time to relax. Kate, Jenna, Brenda, Kiyonna, Jordan, and the rest of the Konk Club ladies welcomed our son with positive attitudes and caring hearts. We were able to communicate ahead of time the schedule we wanted our son to be there, and the manager, Meg, assured me he could have a 1:1 counselor, so that he would have all the attention he needed. The wonderful staff at the Konk Club exceeded our expectations. Traveling as a family can be stressful, and I’m nearly 31 weeks pregnant, so we were so tentatively hopeful this trip would be a good one for our family. We brought our 5 year old son with us, and he is mildly on the Autism Spectrum, with other developmental differences. One of the big highlights of our vacation, though, was the Konk Club and its staff. Mostly, my husband and I really enjoyed the time to relax and open our books, which was needed. There are activities to keep one busy, or plenty of chairs or covered cabanas for quiet reading and relaxing. The many locations for food were all good - nothing too phenomenal, but ‘good’ is perfectly fine for the convenience of many options. The room (a gulf-view 1 bedroom suite) was clean and adequate, with a lovely view. Every staff person we encountered was warm and helpful. The weather could have been slightly warmer, but there’s nothing anyone could do about that. This was our last vacation as a family of 3, soon to be family of 4, and it was just what we needed. It’s not easy to get all of that in one resort.

convenience, beach location without worry of Zika, family-friendly environment, and a welcoming place for families who have someone on the Autism spectrum.
